Petcube Hits $100k Funding Goal in 6 Days

With 34 days remaining in the Kickstarter campaign, Petcube announces

stretch goals.

As any pet owner knows, your furry loved one is family. That’s why it’s no surprise that Petcube is such a hit on Kickstarter. Petcube, a smart gadget that allows users to watch, talk and play with pets, rocketed past their $100,000 fundraising goal in less than one week. After passing the funding target, Petcube announced stretch goals which, if hit, will result in additional features, including sound alerts, an auto-play mode, and motion detection.

 “We knew people would be as passionate about Petcube as we are, and making our goal in such a short amount of time is a testament to that,” CEO Yaroslav Azhnyuk said. “Our backer’s support is valuable to us, so we decided to add additional features based on their feedback and ideas.”

If the campaign reaches $150,000, users will have the option to receive push notifications to their smartphone when Petcube detects barking or other loud noises. At $200,000, an auto-play mode will be added. The auto play mode will let users create a laser movement routine that runs even when no one is playing with the Petcube. At $250,000, Petcube will add motion detection- users will be notified when Fido is active and willing to play.

Petcube comes equipped with a wide-angle video camera, a microphone and speakers and a low-intensity laser beam, all encompassed in a durable aluminum 4-inch cube. A free mobile app allows users to run the interaction process. Users can see their pet and use joystick-like controls overlaid on the video stream to move the laser pointer for the animals to play.
