Petcube Expands Global Distribution with Major Retailers on the Heels of its Kickstarter Success

Bestselling pet camera maker announces its international expansion plans and roll out of new products Petcube Play and Petcube Bites

BERLIN, GERMANY — September 5, 2016 — Today at IFA in Berlin, Petcube announced that its new product lineup will be coming to retailers in major international markets, starting with Petcube Play, the next-generation of the #1 best selling Petcube Camera. The company’s announcement comes on the heels of its Kickstarter campaign, which raised $319,913 and exceeded its goal by 159%.

Petcube Play will begin commercial release this winter and Petcube Bites will be released in early 2017. Petcube is expanding international distribution to Media Markt and Saturn in Europe, leading US pet retailer Petco in the US, Softbank in Japan, and Petbarn in Australia. Petcube currently distributes in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific markets.

Petcube’s product line-up lets people see, talk to and have fun with their pets when they’re not at home. Petcube Play, the next-gen Petcube Camera, is redesigned from the ground up and more compact in size. It promotes real-time play and exercise with an optimized laser toy. Petcube Bites is an interactive treat cam designed to help pet parents care for their pets remotely, treat and reward them. Both Petcube Play and Petcube Bites come with advanced camera features, including clear 1080p HD video, 3x digital zoom, night vision, 2-way audio, and sound and motion detection.

All Petcube camera products come with a free 30-day trial subscription to Petcube Care, an optional video cloud recording service that provides 10 or 30 days of video history. Petcube Care is designed to capture memorable pet moments and give people peace of mind that their pets and their home are secure when they’re away.

“We’ve got an exciting holiday ahead of us with our new product lineup, supported by major retail and global expansion. We’re deeply committed to reimagining pet care by creating innovative products that connect people with their pets,” said Yaroslav Ahznyuk, CEO and Co-Founder of Petcube. "In the next 5 years, most pets will become connected and it will completely change how we care for our pets, what it means to be a pet parent and what it means to be in the pet business."

Petco will be Petcube’s first US national pet specialty retail partner, which is strategic to the company’s mission to reach more dedicated pet parents, helping them to find new ways to keep their pets safe, happy and healthy when they can’t be with them.

Petcube Play and Petcube Bites will be available for preorder on Petcube.com later this September. Both products will come in 3 colors - Matte Silver, Rose Gold and Carbon Black. Petcube currently sells its #1 bestselling Petcube Camera direct on Petcube.com and major channels including, Amazon, Best Buy, Brookstone and Bed Bath and Beyond. The MSRP for Petcube Play is $199 USD, and $249 USD for Petcube Bites.
